Description of room types

Single ensuite room - single room with own bathroom and shared kitchen facilities.

Large/deluxe ensuite room - large single room with own bathroom and shared kitchen facilities.

Single room with shared bathroom - single room with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.

Duplex room - Single room (for one person).  The kitchen facilities are shared with everyone in the flat, but the bathroom is only shared between two students. 

One bedroom apartment (standard or large) - available for a couple.  Open plan apartment consisting of a living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.

One bedroom studio - available for one student.  Open plan apartment consisting of a living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.

Large double room - available for a couple.  Double room with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities (shared with other students in the accommodation).

Meal Plan rooms - Meals included in the residence fee charge.

- Designated flats in Aitken, Maple Bank, Mason, Shackleton and Tennis Court (all on the Vale) provides access to good quality food and a modern and pleasant environment in which to take meals. 

- The Meal Plan is designed to offer students a flexible meal package that can be used within the weekly allowance of £40.77 for the 2009/10 academic year.  Students can choose how they spend this allowance at the Hub with the wide choice of meals and daily advertised specials. Full information will be available in the FAQ booklet. Any weekly underspend cannot be carried over to the following week. Meals are provided Monday to Friday, during  term time only (32 weeks). 

- During the weekends students can purchase take away meals on Friday from the Hub, or make use of the kitchen facilities within their respective flats.

- A range of menus for dietary requirements are available.  For more details about these please contact the Catering Manager on 0121 415 1015.

- Further information about the meal plan will be sent out with accommodation contracts.
