University owned shared houses are for staff, families, postgraduate and Undergraduate students. Established groups of students are welcome, however, the University will also allocate groups from individual applicants.

There are 9 shared houses within easy walking distance, or are on main public transport routes to the main campus.  They have single study bedrooms and shared bathroom, kitchen and lounge facilities. Houses are furnished, ranging from 3 to 5 bedrooms and are located in the Selly Oak areas of Birmingham (click below to Multimap):

• North Road (2 houses)
• Oak Tree Lane
• Umberslade Road (2 houses)
• Westminster Road
  

There are also a number of self contained flats available in Moseley for Postgraduate students. These are situated at:

• Anderton Park Road
• Augusta Road
• Strensham Hill
• Sandford Road
• Highfield Road
• Woodfield Road
• Caroline Road

There is also a 6 bed shared house for Postgraduates and 8 family flats/houses located on the Selly Oak Campus.

Residents are able to stay during the Christmas and Easter vacations. All properties are ideally located close to convenience stores or supermarkets.

A dedicated Housing Officer is available to deal with all queries.

The average 2007/08 fees for University Owned shared properties in Selly Oak is £55.00 per week, per person. The average 2007/8 fees for a one bedroom flat in Moseley is £411.00 per month.  The basic rent figure includes water rates and a basic personal possession insurance package. The properties are automatically exempt from Council Tax.  A £250.00 deposit is required when accepting a contract for any of these properties.

All University owned properties meet Gas and Electrical Safety standards.
